Coupon Lingo

If you are new to couponing, trying to read the coupon matchups without knowing the coupon lingo can be a little bit of a challenge! Below is a list of common acronyms used to help you get started...

GM = General Mills
PG = Procter and Gamble
RP = Red Plum
SS = SmartSource

ECB = Extra Care Bucks – CVS money
RR = Register Reward – Walgreens money
B1G1 or BOGO = Buy One, Get One Free
B2G1 = Buy Two, Get One Free

BLINKIE = Smart Source coupon machine by the product in the store, with red blinking lights

CAT or CATALINA = Coupon that prints out at the register after purchase
DEAD = Offer No Longer Valid
DND = Do Not Double
EX or X = Expires On
FAR = Free After Rebate
FILLER = Item Purchased to Reach a Minimum Total in Order to Get a “Deal”
GC = Gift Card
HTH = Hope That Helps
IP = Internet Printable
MC, MFQ, MQ = Manufacturer Coupon
MIR = Mail In Rebate
NED = No Expiration Date
OOP = Out of Pocket

OYNO= On Your Next Order

ROLLING = Using Your Savings from One Transaction to Do Another Transaction
STACKING = Using Both a Store Coupon and a Manufacturer’s Coupon on One Item

STOCKPILING= Stocking up on items at rockbottom prices so you don't have to pay full retail again

TEARPAD = A pad of coupons you can tear off, usually hanging by the item on the shelf
TMF = Try Me Free Offer
UPC = Universal Product Code

WAGS= Walgreens

WYB = When you buy
